Project Description
Dreisewerd Kitchen Renovation
PROJECT GOALS
The owners of this home wanted to brighten and open up the kitchen area. There was plenty of existing cabinetry storage, but the homeowners wanted to create a more seamless transition or more open concept. The renovation focused on aesthetically pleasing materials, and the wall between the kitchen and family room was widened. Their previous kitchen had dark countertops, dark backsplash and dark cabinets with narrow plank floors. The hardware and light fixtures were outdated in a very popular early 2000s design style.
THE END RESULT
When the project was completed, the kitchen transformed into a beautiful and bright space. The contrasting white and wood cabinets create a modern finish. The white cabinetry, bright quartz countertop and choice of paint on the walls brightened the space and removing the wall between the two living areas created the more open concept the homeowners were hoping for. The kitchen was finished with brushed gold hardware and lighting fixtures. The RSI team was able to keep the same cabinetry layout, yet refreshed the space into an unrecognizable bright and inviting gathering place and added a dedicated area for wine storage.
