Bright & Colorful Primary Bath
For this homeowner, a love of bold color and lively prints carries through every corner of her Webster Groves home. When it came time to reimagine her 25 year old primary bath, she turned to RSI Kitchen & Bath Designer Kristine Fields to create a space that felt just as vibrant, but also open, airy, and functional.
The original bath was defined by heavy finishes: a fully enclosed 5-by-9-foot shower clad in dark brown onyx, a vaulted ceiling in the shower that felt cavernous, and wing walls that boxed in the tub and vanities. Fields’ vision began with opening up the shower—replacing full walls with a light-filtering half wall and gleaming white tile to bounce light throughout the room. Large-format subway tile was chosen to suit the shower’s generous proportions, while the new glass door keeps the warmth in without closing the space off.
The built-in corner tub was removed, making way for a freestanding Barclay Carlotta acrylic tub—a sculptural centerpiece that instantly modernizes the room. Omega maple cabinetry in Rain, finished with Top Knobs Chareau pulls in Honey Bronze, brings a cheerful pop of color that reflects the homeowner’s playful design sensibility. The vanities and shower bench featuring Silestone Eternal Statuario quartz and Florim USA Jem tile in Adagio White Matte on the floor offers a timeless contrast to the vibrant cabinetry.
Luxury details complete the space: Moen Colinet fixtures in brushed gold, a Warmly Yours towel warmer, lighting, mirrors, and wallpaper—personally selected by the client —infuse the final layer of personality, proving that a bathroom can be both polished and joyfully unique.
The result is a primary bath that feels brighter, fresher, and unmistakably like the property owner—an everyday retreat that marries function with fearless style.
