Sophisticated Lower Level Bar

As part of this custom home built by Kemp Homes, the lower level bar was designed to deliver the same refined contemporary aesthetic and thoughtful functionality found throughout the home. Clean lines, concealed appliances, and dramatic contrasts create a space that feels elevated, modern, and perfectly suited for entertaining.

Rather than following traditional bar cabinetry proportions, the upper cabinets were intentionally shortened and installed higher on the wall to create a more open architectural feel and provide a striking focal point. Anchoring the space is a custom 10-foot stainless steel display shelf with an integrated light rail, designed to showcase glassware and décor while adding warmth and ambient lighting to the otherwise minimalist composition.

To maintain the bar’s sleek appearance, nearly every appliance was concealed below the countertop. A suite of premium undercounter appliances including Sub-Zero 36-inch refrigerator drawers, a Wolf microwave drawer, and double dishwasher drawers from Fisher & Paykel provides full entertaining functionality without interrupting the streamlined design.

Rich dark cabinetry from Wynnbrooke Cabinetry in the Liberty door style was finished in Tricorn Black paint, creating a bold, sophisticated contrast against the stainless steel elements. The result is a dramatic lower level entertaining space that balances luxury, practicality, and contemporary simplicity.
