McCausland Primary Suite

McCausland Primary Suite

This bathroom renovation transformed an underutilized second floor into a spacious and refined primary suite, thoughtfully designed to complement the character of an Arts & Crafts home. By incorporating an adjacent bedroom into the new layout, the homeowners were able to create a luxurious retreat complete with a generous walk-in closet and an expansive new bath.

The design centers around a large walk-in shower paired with a separate freestanding tub, creating a spa-like atmosphere while maintaining a timeless aesthetic. Double-bowl vanities provide ample space for daily routines, complemented by a dedicated seated makeup vanity that adds both convenience and elegance. The cabinetry, finished in Bottle Brush Green by UltraCraft, introduces depth and warmth to the space, balancing beautifully with the layered mix of finishes throughout the room.

Polished nickel plumbing fixtures from Moen are paired with gold lighting and accent pieces, creating a sophisticated blend of metals that feels intentional and inviting rather than overly formal. Black-trimmed mirrors above the vanities provide contrast, while a decorative gold mirror at the makeup area adds a touch of personality. Tile selections further enhance the design, with 12×24 porcelain from Anatolia featured in the shower, accented by a basketweave pattern on the shower floor and vanity backsplash. Underfoot, a porcelain wood floor laid in a chevron pattern adds movement and warmth, tying together traditional craftsmanship with modern luxury for a space that feels both elevated and enduring.
