Webster Groves Home Addition – A Family Legacy, Reimagined
This 1930s home in Webster Groves holds deep roots—purchased by a couple returning to his childhood home. Now with two teenagers, they needed more space and decided to build a thoughtful addition that doubled the home’s square footage while honoring its original character.
The new layout includes a spacious kitchen, an open great room, two additional bathrooms, a laundry room, and a fully finished lower level—offering comfort and functionality for every member of the family.
Design-wise, this couple wasn’t afraid to go bold. In the kitchen, dark-toned wood cabinetry is paired with vibrant backsplash tile for a rich and energetic aesthetic. Black porcelain tile on the back of the island mimics the look of tambour wood, adding texture and visual interest. Beautiful wood plank ceilings carry warmth throughout the addition, seamlessly connecting old and new.
This renovation perfectly balances heritage and modern living—respecting the home’s past while creating space for a vibrant, growing family’s future
