Are you tired of looking at your outdated bathroom? Ready for a change? A bathroom design project is an exciting adventure to begin! Chances are you’ve been daydreaming about what your bathroom could be, browsing Pinterest or scrolling through Instagram. There are a lot of beautiful spaces out there, but how do you find the perfect blend of trendy and “you”?
When they come to their first design consultation at RSI Kitchen & Bath, many of our clients have a perfect idea of what they want their bathroom to look like. But many don’t know where to start — and that’s OK! We’re here to help guide you through the process.
If you’re in need of some inspiration, here are some of our design team’s favorite bathroom design trends of the moment.
Bathroom Design Trends for 2021
Don’t Be Afraid of Color
While crisp, clean white bathrooms — with white cabinets, quartz countertops and marble floors — aren’t going out of style, we’re loving a little color. Consider adding blues and greens to your space (whether in a vanity or your shower tile) for a spa-like retreat.
Include Bold Fixtures
Elevate your bathroom! If you’re feeling bolder with your design, gold and black fixtures are hot right now. And if you’re hesitant about gold, this isn’t your 90s-brass-vibe — today’s gold is rich and eye-catching, not shiny and dated.
Try Out Stunning Shower Doors
Glass shower doors have seen a huge comeback in recent years. For an industrial look that makes a statement, consider framing your shower doors and stationary panels with black metal. This can also tie in beautifully with other fixtures you have in the bathroom.
Include Easy Closet Access
Mornings are hard enough. Make it easier on you and your partner by connecting your bathroom to a walk-in closet. This can be a great use of space and create a dressing room that offers privacy while getting ready.
Install Heated Floors
The last thing anyone wants to do when it’s cold out is step onto the cold tile in the bathroom. Heated floors are an incredible invention that many of our clients are implementing into their spaces. And guess what? They’re a lot more affordable than you may think.
Choose Luxury Showers Over Tubs
Whirlpool tubs have had their moment. But this year, we can’t stop ogling luxury, walk-in showers. Clients realize that their jetted tubs weren’t as useful, especially in a master bathroom. We’re loving steam showers, which are great for after a workout, warming up on cold winter days or even relieving allergy congestion.
Select Innovative Medicine Cabinets
We’ve been seeing — and loving — the current takes on the plain old medicine cabinet, including an easy-access medicine cabinet, like the Uplift Tech Collection from Robern. Maybe it doesn’t feel like a “must-have,” but if you’re looking to take your bathroom to the next level, this is one way to do it.
In the end, your bathroom design should be what you want it to be. That’s why our design team takes the time to listen to your wants, needs and dislikes as well as get a feel for your own design style. It’s the perfect time to talk about current trends so we can see how to create a space that’s both attractive and functional for you and your family.
